国内で一番品質が良く高級品とされる和歌山県南部川村産の備長炭を販売する専門店。

備長炭は日本で古くから水や空気を浄化するものとして利用されてきたものだが、

1980年頃よりふたたび全国的なブームになり、新しい生活に合うモダンテイストな提案で、

それまで一般的に食事に使うもの意外は、直接炭だけを棚やコンピュータの上などに

じかに置いていたものがインテリアやオブジェとして飾られるものになる。

主な参加製作物は、ロゴマーク（書）、壁面アート、商品開発、オリジナルプロダクト、

ウィンドディスプレイ、など。

ロゴマークは、掌という文字の篆字をベースに、炭窯のイメージと、備長炭の材料であるうまべ樫の木のような上に伸びてゆく植物のイメージを取り入れ構成。

This store was produced by Kenkichi Fujisaki (Fujisaki Jimusho) in Ginza. 

This shop specializes in the sale of top-grade binchotan (charcoal) products

from Kawamura in Wakayama Prefecture. Binchotan was prized in 

ancient Japan for its ability to cleanse water and air. In the 1980s, 

there was a resurgence of interest in the material across Japan. 

Sticks of charcoal would simply be placed on shelves and atop computers

as utilitarian objects; the Tanagokoro concept was to fashion these into 

interior design objects fit to decorate modern living spaces. 

Tanagokoro remains a popular subject of media attention. 

Hamiru's main responsibilities included the calligraphic logo design, interior artwork, 

product development, original product design, window display design etc.

This store in Ginza specializes in binchotan (charcoal) products and is named for a Japanese word which translates as "palm of the hand". This logo caricaturizes the ideographical elements contained within that character to represent the oak tree which provides the raw materials for binchotan and the furnace in which the charcoal is forged.
